Angle of Ray Hits

Hi all,

I currently have a hemisphere CAD model as a light source in Zemax. I would like to see the angular spread of the light source. I have tried using the polar detector and surface detector to get some type of angular sensitivity, but that does not seem to work.

Thank you for your time,

Mo

Hi @Moohilton.Soosaippillai,

Apologies for the delayed response to your question. In case it is still relevant, please see this Community topic: Is an angle of incidence report available in the Ray Database Viewer? | Zemax Community. This discussion gives some good background and approaches to analyzing incidence angle.

Here is a screenshot of my current output. I would think that the spread should be even across the detector, but instead there are spikes and inconsistencies.
